Do I have to paint you a picture?, a Polaroid exhibition and one day symposium curated by photographer Sam Perry, took place in a empty shop space in Morgan Arcade, Cardiff. The exhibition brought together artists from around the world to showcase their work and discuss the endangered medium of Polaroid photography. I was approached to design the joint programme of events.

As the exhibition was an independently curated, the client wanted to produce something slightly different but still keep the costs to a minimum. The solution was an A5 brochure which unfolded into an A2 poster, printed with one colour onto recycled paper for a tactile feel.

Feedback for the brochure was great with many of the Polaroid artists mentioning the different treatment of one colour printing as opposed to full colour as one would expect Polaroids to be shown in.

I also attended the symposium – you can read more about it on the blog.

I worked closely with Laura throughout all aspects of the production of the document and was extremely pleased with the outcome and the way her work was executed. Laura used her design acumen to guide and advise me through the process in a supportive and accommodating way and the resulting article was highly praised by all parties involved.

I hope to work with Laura again in the future, whether it be towards a printed document, website or any other promotional materials.”
