Transeuropa Caravans, an initiative by European Alternatives, reached out to Europeans where they are, at their sites of struggle, at their places of initiative. Ahead of the European Parliament elections 2014, the caravans connected local alternative voices across the continent.

In reality this meant a journey in a motorhome with strangers across North West Europe for 12 days, visiting local initiatives, listening and documenting their views. My role was to visualise and draw cartoons of projects but also individuals and put faces on big issues such as mental health or migration. These visual pieces were uploaded to the project website on the road creating a live archive of local voices across Europe and also used in further publications.

You can view the full set of cartoons with their original blog posts here and read my blog post about the experience.

  • Laura was booked by the Wales Deanery to make a graphic recording of our MedTRiM Course for doctors. She captured both the main learning outcomes of the course and the essence of the learning activities incredibly well. What she produced was so good we now use it on all MedTRiM Courses to set the scene for the day.

  • Laura was a pleasure to work with, both flexible and accommodating for our specific needs. The final piece produced on the day was of exceptional quality and I highly recommend her.

  • The work done by Laura was invaluable in helping others to understanding the innovation model clearly, and in a lively way that inspired and engaged people. Laura was very effective in clarifying the brief and making helpful suggestions to improve the final product.
